Behind the Books – January
This video is the first in a new series from Digital Media’s Studio 1308 that tracks nine students’ progress throughout the four months of the spring semester. Welcome to “Behind the Books.”
We wanted to learn the reasons some students persevere through the Digital Media program successfully while others choose a different path, and who would be better equipped to tell us their motivations than the students themselves? We will bring updates for February, March, and April as we gather and edit the footage. This video introduces them at the beginning of the semester in January, 2019.

10Gb Server Update for Digital Media
In this video, we highlight the process we used to install and configure a 10Gb network for Digital Media Technology department at Polk State College.
We are grateful to our generous administration for support (President Falconetti, Steve Hull, Ernie Ivey, Diane Caudill, IT, facilities and business office) and our highly-efficient media staff that includes our lab coordinator Ashley Bramwell, and lab assistants, Camry Brewer, Millie Lopez, Juan Santana, Emilisse Ortiz, Daniel Carrion, Jotham Johnson, and Casey Chung. Dr. Gregory Johnson was the chief architect of the project and collaborated with digital media staff to plan, install, and configure the new network.
Our students are ecstatic about the new capabilities to edit HD and 4K video directly from the server. This is awesome!
