The Early Disbursement For Study Abroad Students experiment- permits Polk State College to disburse Direct Loan funds for some students enrolled in approved study abroad programs as early as 30 days prior to the first day of classes of the student’s enrollment for the loan period.

  3. BONAIRE - 2019

    Overview: Economic Analysis – Students will  work with the Bonaire Tourism Board to conduct research for a tourism study and learn how tourism has impacted Bonaire’s economy. They will also tour historical sites on the island including the salt flats, marine park, slave huts, lighthouses, and visit the Washington Slagbaai National Park – Indian inscriptions.  Students will research tourism and conduct interviews with local divers and dive resorts.

    Students will gain experience in environmental and ocean sciences while visiting Guadeloupe. Polk State students will work with students from the University of Antilles to collect water samples using robotic remote controlled vehicles, analyze the samples and record the data.
