BAS in Supervision and Management Program:

The BAS program provides individuals with an associate’s degree or equivalent the opportunity to build upon the foundational skills attained through their associate’s degree programs by completing upper-division coursework in management and leadership practices.

The BAS in Supervision and Management offers five concentration tracks:

Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice

The Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice degree at Polk State College is designed to provide students with a broad understanding of crime and society’s crime control mechanisms and to prepare them for professional careers in criminal justice.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

The RN to BSN program provides registered nurses who have an Associate degree in Nursing or a Diploma in Nursing from an approved program the opportunity to advance in their educational and career goals. Upper-level coursework will place emphasis on nursing leadership and professional development to strengthen skills to professionally and safely deliver evidenced-based care.

Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Sciences

The Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Sciences at Polk State College is designed to provide students with a holistic, operational study of the U.S. and international aerospace systems. Students use advanced skills and information gained through this program to prepare them for professional careers in commercial aviation and aerospace administration. The degree incorporates the critical concept of Safety Management Systems (SMS) into each course, allowing for the development and application of information regarding safety factors and risks that are naturally present in the aerospace environment. All students participate in a common program core before specializing in either a Professional Pilot or Aerospace Administration concentration, both of which culminate in a capstone course, which encourages students to implement their theoretical mastery of the degree content in an operational context.

Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education

The Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education Program at Polk State College is a Florida-approved teacher preparation program that builds on an Associate in Arts degree. Field experience is an integral part of this degree program, leading up to the final internship, which involves a 12-week placement in a local Polk County school. During this time, teacher candidates are able to assume the role of a full-time classroom teacher, providing ample time for teacher candidates to demonstrate mastery of the skills and competencies delineated by the State of Florida. Graduates of the elementary education degree program will be eligible for certification through the Florida Professional Teacher Certification with Elementary Education (Grades K-6), along with requirements for ESOL Endorsement and Reading Endorsement for the Florida Teacher Standards.

Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education
