Polk State Haines City-Davenport Campus
Latest News: Polk State College advocates for Haines City Campus in 2023 Legislative Session
Architect: Straughn Trout Architects (Lakeland, FL) and PBK Architects (Houston, TX)
Construction Manager: AD Morgan Corporation (Tampa, FL) and DuCon (Tampa, FL)
Project Manager: Carla Harvey, CJAE Group (Tampa, FL)
Estimated Budget: $51 million
Sources of Funding: $13.8 million in PECO funds (2022 Legislative Session)
$3 million donation from Barney Barnett and the Barnett family (April 2023)
$8.1 million in PECO funds (2023 Legislative Session)
Planning and Design Phase in process; schematic design underway
Construction Phase I begins Spring 2024
- 75,000-square-foot facility with an emphasis on workforce development training in the area of Health Sciences
- Collaborative spaces for hands-on interdisciplinary simulated training
Completion Date: Estimated Fall 2025
Winter Haven Fine Arts Building (WFA)
Latest News: Collaborative effort brings WFA renovations to life

Estimated Budget: $16.4 million
Sources of Funding:
- $16.2 million in PECO Funds (2021 Legislative Session)
- $172,000 Central Florida Tourism & Sports Marketing Grant
Construction Phase I (exterior) complete
- Brick replacement and roof replacement
Construction Phase II (interior) begins Winter Break 2023-24
- Renovations for of classroom, office, and performance spaces for theater, visual arts, music
- Updating all building systems including ventilation, plumbing, electrical, IT, etc.
- Phase II interior renovations are 50% complete; music wing and art labs 101 and 103 are completed and in use
Completion Date: Estimated end of 2024
Winter Haven Science Building (WSC)
Architect: The Lunz Group (Lakeland, FL)
Construction Manager: Barton Malow (Orlando, FL) and NuJak Companies (Lakeland, FL)
Estimated Budget: $16.7 million
Sources of Funding: $16.7 million in PECO Funds (2022 Legislative Session)
The Planning and Design Phase is complete; the creation of construction documents are in process.
Construction begins at the beginning of 2025
- Interior renovations including science labs, nursing labs, classrooms, and offices
- Exterior renovations may include roofing repair/replacement, brick repairs, and window replacement
Completion Date: Estimated end of 2025
Lakeland Academic Center (LAC)

Estimated Budget: $12.3 million
