Applicants are admitted to the Radiography Program using a selective admission process. Students seeking admission to the program should download the program application from the link on the main program webpage (contact a college academic advisor for assistance, if needed). Submit a completed application to an academic advisor on one of the college’s campuses (Winter Haven, Lakeland, JD Alexander Center, or Airside Center), or directly to the Program Director (The Radiography Program is located at the Airside Center in Lakeland). Failure to complete all requirements will dismiss the applicant from the selection process for the upcoming class.
Deadline for application submission is August 31 of each year for the January program admission date. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance (or alternate status) by mail approximately 4-6 weeks after application deadline.
A selection committee utilizes a point system as a GUIDE in the selection of qualified students for the Radiography Program (contact the Program Director with any questions).
The following areas evaluated by the committee include: College GPA, Prerequisite GPA, Polk County residency, related experience, and co-requisite courses completed (HLP 1081 Wellness Concepts, CGS 1061C Intro to Computers, PHI 2020 Introduction to Philosophy, POS 2041 American National Government).
Polk State College reserves the right to make changes in the admission criteria as circumstances require. Every reasonable effort will be made to communicate changes in the program to interested students.
