International Internships:
International Internships – for more information about study and internships abroad, as well as information on the Global Studies Certificate.
Internships in Merida, Mexico on a faculty-led trip to the Yucatan Nov. 5-23, 2014. Gain global work experience in the “City of Peace” while also learning about the culture and natural beauty of the Yucatan through a “language emersion” experience.
Open to any student who meets the basic qualifications for the trip. Unpaid internship.
We post Department of State-US Foreign Service internships, but students can also check: careers@state.gov for current opportunities and may apply directly for any for which they qualify. NOTE: You may not have a choice in the location, although some internships are “virtual” or domestic as well as international. Check the U.S. Department of State Student Internship Program!

LEGOLAND® Florida Resort Internship
The LEGOLAND® Florida Resort Internship enables students to work and learn while also exploring career possibilities at the largest LEGOLAND® Florida Resort in the world, right here in Winter Haven! Public Service and Community Leadership:
Get involved in the innovative and exciting organizations that serve the Winter Haven community through involvement in non-profit, business, government, and economic development organizations. Serve the community while also exploring career and leadership possibilities.
Open to any interested student. Unpaid internships in most cases; some may occasionally result in paid opportunities.
Theater Winter Haven Internship
Theater students can work in a career-focused capacity in a selective program through the award-winning Theater Winter Haven.
Open to any theater student who meets qualifications. See Professor Carbonell for details. Unpaid internship.
Theme Park and Resort Internships
Polk State will be offering an AA/Liberal Arts Internship course to enable students seeking internships at area Theme Parks (for LEGOLAND see above) to earn course credit for the experience. The course is 1 credit and may be repeated once. Students interested in Theme Park/Resort Internships may apply directly if qualified.
Theme Park/Resort Internships may meet the career goals of a wide range of interests, such as the hospitality industry, the entertainment industry, marketing, business administration, accounting, human resources, and more!
- Disney: Disney has a couple of different internship options.
Disney College Program
Disney Professional Internships - Marriott / Ritz Carlton: Two levels are available: internship and leadership. For opportunities outside of the US see the information under International Internships above.
Marriott / Ritz Carlton Internships - Sea World: Sea World Parks also include Busch Gardens. Students must apply the term prior to when they hope to do an internship. Click HERE for more information.
- Streamsong Resort: Located off of SR 37 in Bowling Green near Fort Meade.
Streamsong Resort Internships - Universal Studios: A universe of opportunities are available fall, spring, or summer term.
Universal Studios Internships - Westgate River Ranch Resort: Located on SR 60east of Lake Wales, the RRR offers a range of hospitality options within a growing corporate network.
