Polk State’s Student Activities and Leadership Office (SALO) has developed a series of events and programs that are specifically targeted to entertain, engage, and educate the members of the incoming freshman class. Some of these activities include:

  • Freshmen Welcome Party, hosted by student clubs and campus organizations, educates freshmen about student activities and how participation can benefit a student’s experience and assist in college success.
  • Fall Flight, In September of each year the freshmen class gathers together at Fall Flight.  It’s an opportunity to catch your breath after completing your first month of classes, connect with your peers, and have some fun.
  • First-week-of-the-month socials, workshops, leadership programs, and meaningful community service projects that are student centered.

Polk State College also offers online students the ability to be involved in College activities. The Virtual Student Center provides engaging opportunities that enable all to participate.
