NOTICE TO INSTRUCTORS
Effective immediately, the cutoff date for turning in time sheets is the last business day of the month. IT IS IMPORTANT TO TURN THE TIMESHEETS IN ON TIME!
REMINDER: PLEASE USE THE MOST CURRENT TIMESHEETS. REMEMBER TO USE YOUR PID NUMBER INSTEAD OF YOUR SSN ON THE TIME SHEETS.
In accordance with KCTIPS G.O. 8.5, adjunct instructors shall be selected for teaching assignments based upon established criteria, which includes desire and availability to instruct. To ensure the highest quality instruction for our students, IPS training coordinators shall notify instructors of teaching opportunities within their particular area(s) of expertise. In an effort to provide equitable rotation of teaching assignments and sufficient instructor preparation time, training coordinators shall notify instructors of teaching opportunities as far in advance as possible. Instructors shall be scheduled only to the teaching assignments for which they have expressed a desire and availability to teach.
If you are interested in teaching one of the Advanced/Specialized courses or the Detention, Correction, Basic Law Enforcement, Equivalency of Training, Night Academy, or Crossover courses, there are specific things you will need to do.
You may contact any of the Coordinators listed below to determine if you have the qualifications and experience they require for a class and to determine if they will be able to utilize you in an actual class in the near future.
The Coordinators will then notify the Administrative Assistant of their need, and we will start the process that you will need to complete.
Please be advised that completing a pre-application for Polk State College and submitting it to HR does not mean that you can teach for Criminal Justice. There are specifics that we require in order to process you, drop you into the system under our codes, and allow you to teach.
We are not currently accepting new instructor applications at this time. Please check this page for updates.
