About the Program Emphasizing business intelligence tools and information mining, this program prepares graduates to work as liaisons among company stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, and information systems. Students analyze business issues and date challenges and then apply decision-support and business-intelligence solutions for improving work processes for better business decision making. Students gain skills in the areas of business, application programming, database and system design, and web-based technologies. The program teaches students to analyze problems using logic and analysis tools, to convert code into computer language, and to build and maintain business intelligence information systems. The phenomenal growth of the personal computer means there is a great demand for people who understand how to operate a computer to accomplish various tasks. Experts predict that this field will have tremendous growth as new technology and computer applications are developed. The AS or AAS degree can be earned in two years. Students who are employed can take classes part time while they gain valuable experience on the job. Many of the classes are offered at night, making them easy to fit into a busy schedule.
