Polk State to close for Presidents Day 2026

Polk State College and its collegiate high schools will be closed on Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, in observance of Presidents Day. The day has been designated as a state holiday as part of Florida’s recognition of the nation’s 250th anniversary.
Because this closure was not in the academic calendar, students are encouraged to check their Canvas accounts and my.polk.edu emails for communications specific to their courses.
Saturday classes will take place on Feb. 14 as scheduled. Registration will continue to take place for the Spring 2026 Semester’s eight-week classes that will begin on March 5.
Currently enrolled students can register for classes in the Polk Portal. Prospective students must submit a free online application to Polk State.
