Polk State Cardiovascular Technology application open April 8 – June 30
The application for Polk State College’s Cardiovascular Technology Program will be open April 8 through June 30 for the 2022-2023 Academic Year.
The Associate in Science in Cardiovascular Technology prepares students for careers as cardiovascular technologists who assist physicians during angioplasty and stenting, monitor a patient’s hemodynamic status during procedures, and provide professional and compassionate pre- and post-procedural patient care. Graduates will find employment opportunities in cardiac catheterization labs in hospitals and in freestanding clinics as professionally licensed health care associates.
Polk State Cardiovascular Technology boasts a 100 percent credentialing exam pass rate (2018-2020) as well as a 100 percent job placement rate (2018-2020), illustrating the program’s success in preparing cardiovascular technologists for success in the rewarding and growing field. The need for cardiovascular technologists and technicians is predicted to grow 14 percent (2020-2030), faster than the average growth of other occupations, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
