Certificates

The Network Systems Engineering Technology program also offers industry-level certificates. This option is for working professionals or students wishing to add to their existing technical skills These certificates can be completed in a standalone environment or as a part of the AS degree track. Each certificate focuses on a specific skill set used within the computer network environment.  These programs put students on the fast track to reaching their career goals. They are designed to equip students with a specialized skill set for immediate employment or career advancement. Certificates can be completed in one year or less.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (INFRASTRUCTURE SPECIALIZATION)

    1. Apply design principles and concepts in computing and networking environments.
    2. Demonstrate router configuration skills.
    3. Design, configure, deploy, and manage the Microsoft Server Operating System and Active Directory infrastructure.
    4. Install, configure, and manage virtualization platforms using applicable concepts.
    5. Demonstrate proper installation of the Microsoft Desktop Operating System.
    6. Demonstrate proper installation of the Linux Desktop Operating System.
    7. Demonstrate proficiency in securing network infrastructures and protecting data.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (INFRASTRUCTURE SPECIALIZATION)

    1. Apply design principles and concepts in computing and networking environments.
    2. Demonstrate router configuration skills.
    3. Differentiate and explain different access control models.
    4. Identify and specify the appropriate actions to take to mitigate vulnerabilities and risks presented by different types of malicious code.
    5. Demonstrate proficiency in securing network infrastructures; applying security-testing, intrusion, detection, and prevention techniques; and protecting data.
    6. Demonstrate proficiency in performing security-penetration testing.
    7. Demonstrate proficiency in responding to cybersecurity incidents.
    8. Demonstrate principles related to account management; use role-based access control; and incorporate Azure policies, compliance, and trust.
