Summer classes start, enrollment continues at Polk State

Posted on by Polk Newsroom

The Summer 2021 Semester’s 12-week, eight-week, and first session of six-week classes have started, but there is still time to enroll for the term’s second session of six-week classes that will begin on June 23.

Additionally, currently enrolled students can also enroll for the Fall 2021 Semester, which will start on August 16. Open enrollment for the fall term will begin on June 1.

Students can register for classes in Passport. Prospective students must submit a free online application to Polk State. Information about the application, orientation, and registering for classes is available at www.polk.edu/admission-aid/admissionsteps. Dual enrollment students should work with their high school advisors and email DEregistration@polk.edu for registration assistance if needed.

Prospective students are encouraged to attend a virtual open house event. Sessions are scheduled in April and May in both English and Spanish and will cover topics from the admissions process and registering for classes to applying for financial aid and scholarships. More information including a schedule of events, registration, and recordings of sessions are available at www.polk.edu/openhouse.

It is important to note that Polk State remains in Phase II of its Return to Campus Plan, with many classes taking place online or in hybrid formats which integrate in-person and online learning. When registering for classes in Passport, students should check the course descriptions for specific details about class formats and expectations.

Services including advising and financial aid are available remotely and in person by visiting the Lakeland Technology Building (LTB) on the Lakeland Campus or Winter Haven Administration Building (WAD) on the Winter Haven Campus.
