Students Get to Know Polk State Lake Wales Through Scavenger Hunt

Posted on by Polk Newsroom

During its Welcome Week activities, the Polk State College JD Alexander Center organized a scavenger hunt aimed at getting students to learn more about the College’s presence in Lake Wales.

Students had to answer questions and complete tasks related to both the Polk State College JD Alexander Center and the Polk State College Lake Wales Arts Center. For example, the scavenger hunt asked students to find out what services are offered in the JDA Student Success Center, meet Arts Center Director Osubi Craig, and get the signature of the Polk State Lake Wales Student Government Association president.

Students had five days to turn in complete, correct scavenger hunt forms.

Winners included Caroline Ullman, Lake Wales, who won first place and received a Kindle Fire; Nikela Sullivan, Lake Wales, and Abigail Rodriguez, Frostproof, who tied for second and each received an iPod Shuffle; Victoria Granados, Indian Lake Estates, and Richard Campagna, Lake Wales, who tied for fourth and received a Polk State tote and lanyard.

In Lake Wales, Polk State operates the Polk State Lake Wales Arts Center, 1099 State Road 60 East, and the Polk State JD Alexander Center, 152 E. Central Ave.
