Polk State Open House Events are October 20, 27

Polk State College will host two Open House events for prospective students.

The first event will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, at Polk State Winter Haven, 999 Ave. H N.E., in the Student Center, rooms WST 126 and 127.

The second event will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, at Polk State Lakeland, 3425 Winter Lake Road, in the Lakeland Technology Building, room LTB 1100.

At the events, attendees will complete applications to the College, learn about academic programs, meet faculty members, meet with representatives from Student Financial Services, receive help in completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), learn about student clubs and activities, and tour the campus.

A three-credit-hour scholarship will also be given away during each event.

Polk State College, an open-access institution, was established in 1964, and serves more than 24,000 students annually. Its offerings include the Associate in Arts, which is parallel and fully transferable to the State University System, and the Associate in Science, which is designed to lead directly to the workforce, a growing number of baccalaureate degrees tied to local employer demand, and a variety of continuing education and certificate programs.
