Polk State Financial Aid to host workshops to help prospective students with FAFSA

To make it easier for prospective students to apply for aid, the Polk State College Financial Aid Department is hosting a series of free workshops during the 2026 Fall Semester on the Winter Haven Campus.
The workshops are intended to help students complete an error-free Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. The U.S. Department of Education announced its earliest-ever FAFSA launch on September 23.
All FAFSA workshops will take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Winter Haven Administration Building (WAD) Computer Lab. The workshops are scheduled for the following dates:
- Thursday, October 8
- Thursday, October 22
- Thursday, November 5
- Thursday, November 19
- Thursday, December 3
- Thursday, December 10
Interested students should complete the form here or email FinancialAid@polk.edu with their Student ID, date in which they wish to attend, and their age. The Financial Aid Department will reply with a confirmation email and a list of items to bring to the workshop.
Federal student aid, which includes Pell Grants, student loans, and the Federal Work-Study Program, is available to Polk State students and prospective students with a high school diploma or general educational development (GED) credential. Additional state and institutional financial aid may also be available with a FAFSA. Applications are for the 2027-2028 Academic Year.
