Polk State students encouraged to apply for financial aid following early FAFSA launch

The U.S. Department of Education announced the earliest launch of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form ever on Wednesday. The early launch and new form are intended to simplify the application process and allow families a little more time to apply for aid for the 2027-2028 Academic Year.

Polk State College students are encouraged to apply early. Federal student aid, which includes Pell Grants, student loans, and the Federal Work-Study Program, is available to Polk State students and prospective students with a high school diploma or general education degree (GED). State and institutional financial aid funds are also available by using the FAFSA.

Polk State’s FAFSA school code is 001514.Students who need help or have questions can visit the Winter Haven Administration Building (WAD) or the Lakeland Technology Building (LTB) Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. or on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Assistance is also available by calling 863.297.1004, emailing financialaid@polk.edu, or messaging the webchat in the bottom left corner of the polk.edu/admission-aid page.
