Polk State Eagle Spotted at Country’s Southernmost Point

Posted on by Polk Newsroom

The Polk State Eagle keeps making its way around the world, having most recently been spotted at the southernmost point of the United States.

Howard Johnson, program specialist for the Advanced Manufacturing Talent Development Institute at Polk State, got married on Christmas Eve, and when he and new wife Carolyn headed to Key West for their honeymoon, he made sure to pack a College T-shirt.

“I wear my Polk State shirt to be casual, and I know the College likes to see pictures of the shirt taken in unusual places,” he said.

While celebrating his marriage, Johnson took the time to have his picture snapped at a land marker identifying the country’s southernmost point, which is a mere 90 miles from Cuba.

Polk State gear has previously been spotted in Africa, California, Kentucky and South Dakota.
