Polk State College’s Speech and Debate Team is holding open, college wide auditions for a spot on our 2015-2016 competitive team! We travel everywhere in Florida, competing against two- and four-year schools from all around the country. As a member of the team you will build confidence and poise, make friends, have fun, develop strong research skills, and compete in a scholastic activity with a long history in the United States. Whether you have previous speech team experience or not, you are welcome at auditions.
Prepare a short presentation — it can be anything: a dramatic monologue, an informative speech, a slam poem, a persuasive speech or something you’ve already done for a class. If you do not have a selection, we’ll have one for you.
