DoD Tuition Assistance
The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Tuition Assistance (TA) program offers financial support to service members for voluntary off-duty education, aiming to enhance both professional and personal development.
TA is applicable for courses that are part of an approved academic degree or certificate program. Polk State College is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education and holds a current Department of Defense Voluntary Education Partnership Memorandum of Understanding (DoD MOU).
The Tuition Assistance program covers up to 100% of tuition costs, with a maximum of $250 per semester credit hour and $4,500 per fiscal year. Please note that students utilizing TA are responsible for any additional fees.
Active-duty service members and their dependents are eligible for an out-of-state fee waiver, if applicable.

- Follow the Application Process Checklist to become a student at Polk State College.
- All active-duty Service members (including Florida National Guard and Reserves) must contact their Education Officer or Education Counselor at their home unit prior to enrolling in college.
