  4. How do I choose a major?

    • Take a Career Assessment.

The first step in knowing what you want to do is knowing who you are. Although this site is set up as a Canvas course shell, you don’t have to worry about doing any homework! Instead, you will find an array of information to help you develop skills and abilities sought after by employers. To join the Online Career Resource Center please click here. Once you have completed your assessment you can choose to meet with a Career Services staff member to review your results and receive guidance with your career selection. Please email careerservices@polk.edu  to set up an appointment.

    • Participate in a career development workshop.

Recommendation: Every semester the Career Services office organizes a series of events designed to help students develop many of the skills they need to become workforce ready. These offerings are accessible to students via Canvas by enrolling in the free Online Career Resource Center (OCRC) here, or by contacting the Career Services office at careerservices@polk.edu to learn more.
