Your advisor is waiting! Polk State students are encouraged to check emails and texts for messages from their new advisors

Beginning on Tuesday, every Polk State College student will be matched with a dedicated advisor for more personalized support. Students are encouraged to check their my.polk.edu emails and their texts for direct messages from their assigned advisor.
This focused advising model will ensure students know who to contact for help and will assist them in staying on track to completing their courses and reaching graduation.
“We are being intentional about the changes we are making in support of our students,” said Polk State President Anastasios Kamoutsas. “With every student receiving an assigned advisor, they will have a direct connection to the assistance they need to navigate their college journeys.”
For newly admitted students, they will be assigned an advisor within 24 hours of being accepted to Polk State. Their advisor will guide them through the onboarding process and remain with them throughout their time at the College.
This change comes just in time for spring registration, which will begin on November 2 with priority registration for students who have completed at least 50% of their program requirements. Open registration will start on November 9, and classes will start on January 6, 2027.
Prospective students and families are invited to open house events on October 20 at the Polk State JD Alexander Center in Lake Wales, October 27 at the Winter Haven Campus, and October 29 at the Lakeland Campus. Click here for more information.
