Polk State announces open house dates for Fall 2026 Semester

Polk State College is slated to host open house events on both campuses and the JD Alexander Center during the Fall 2026 Semester.

Local students and families are invited to tour campuses, meet faculty and staff, learn about academic programs and student life, complete college applications, receive assistance with applying for financial aid, enter to win scholarships and more. During the events, attendees can also receive information on specific programs offered by the College, including Business, Education, Engineering Technology and Health Sciences.

The JD Alexander Center in Lake Wales at 152 E. Central Ave. will host the first open house event of the semester on Tuesday, Oct. 20. Open house is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in JDA 101.

Open house on the Winter Haven Campus will take place Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 999 Ave. H N.E. in the Health Center Gymnasium.

Open house on the Lakeland Campus at 3425 Winter Lake Road will be held on Thursday, Oct. 29 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Lakeland Technology Building (LTB) Atrium.

During the Winter Haven and Lakeland open houses, there will be presentations held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. regarding Florida’s Bright Futures Scholarship Program. Primarily funded by the Florida Lottery, Bright Futures Scholarships reward high school graduates for high academic achievement. The Winter Haven Campus presentation will be held in the Winter Haven Learning Resources Building (WLR) 104; the Lakeland Campus event will be in LTB 1100. Open registration for the Spring 2027 Semester will begin on Monday, Nov. 9 with classes starting Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2027. Polk State also aims to hold open house events at each of the locations during the spring.

Currently enrolled Polk State students can register for classes in the Polk Portal. Prospective students should submit a free online application to the College by clicking here. Dual enrollment students should work with their high school advisors and email deregistration@polk.edu if they need assistance.
