Polk State Taking Entries for Student Art Exhibition; Deadline Sept. 28

Polk State is currently accepting entries for its upcoming student art exhibition.

The deadline for submission is Sept. 28 at 5 p.m.

Students may submit their work at the Polk State Lakeland Art Gallery or the Polk State Winter Haven Fine Arts Gallery, both open Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students who cannot submit their work during these times may contact Art Professor Holly Scoggins at hscoggins@polk.edu to make other arrangements.

Students may enter a maximum of three pieces per category and may enter multiple categories. However, students are limited to a total of five entries. Categories include ceramics, design, drawing, mixed media, painting, photography, and sculpture.

Other important details:

  • Artwork must have been created in the past two years and not previously displayed at a Polk State exhibition.
  • Entrants must be current Polk State College students.
  • Submissions must be display-ready, i.e. framed, wired and ready to hang.
  • Artists are responsible for delivering and picking up their artwork.

The student art exhibit will be displayed at the Polk State Winter Haven Fine Arts Gallery on Oct. 3-28. A reception and awards ceremony will take place on Oct. 6 from 5 to 7 p.m.
