Posted on by Polk Newsroom

Polk State College’s Career Services Department will host events on the Winter Haven and Lakeland campuses during the Fall 2026 Semester aimed to help students bolster resumes and make contact with employers and universities.

Students will have the chance to learn about opportunities with one of the world’s most recognizable brands on September 2. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Disney: Discover the Possibilities at Polk State College will be held in the lobby of the Winter Haven Fine Arts Building (WFA). Students will be able to interact with representatives and learn about the benefits and job possibilities available with the Walt Disney World Corporation.

During mid-September, Career Services will host the Resume Development Workshop on each campus from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The first takes place on the Lakeland Campus on September 15 in LAC 1133. The Winter Haven Campus will host its workshop the following day, September 16, in WAD 155. The workshops will help students enhance their resumes, so that they stand out to potential employers and universities for those seeking to continue their education.

The College, University and Career Mixer will be held on the Lakeland Campus in LTB 1100 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on October 6. The event puts Polk State students, graduates and job seekers in front of potential employers, colleges and universities. The goal is to provide students with insight as to how their academic and career goals align with those of employers and academic institutions across the region.
