Polk State boasts school record 24 NJCAA All-Academic selections

The Polk State College Athletics Department continues to break records when it comes to academic achievement. After previously reporting a record 49 student-athletes on the FCSAA All-Academic Team, a record 24 have been named NJCAA All-Academic Team for the 2025-26 Academic Year.

Released on Wednesday, July 29, this year’s list of Polk State honorees consists of four first-team selections, 10 second-team selections and 10 third-team selections. Polk State Baseball and Polk State Softball led the way with six selections each.

“Setting this new record speaks to the character of our student-athletes and the commitment of our coaches to developing well-rounded leaders,” Polk State President Anastasios Kamoutsas said. “We celebrate these outstanding students for their academic accomplishments and for representing Polk State with excellence, integrity and determination.”

To qualify for the NJCAA All-Academic Team, student-athletes must have earned a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.6 or greater for the 2025-26 Academic Year.

“While we expect to compete at a high level and have championship aspirations, achievement among student-athletes at Polk State starts in the classroom,” said Randy Lee, Director of Athletics. “To continue to set academic records speaks to the dedication of our student-athletes, coaches and the Polk State College community as a whole.”

Additional criteria for each of the three teams are listed below:

First team: 4.0 GPA
Second team: 3.8-3.99 GPA
Third team: 3.6-3.79 GPA
