Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Kyle Davis, Director of Commercial Vehicle Sales for Kelley Automotive Group, to the Polk State College District Board of Trustees on January 13, 2026.

He will serve alongside Chair Ann Barnhart, Vice Chair Greg Littleton and members Ashley Bell Barnett, Steve Lester, Cindy Hartley Ross and Ashley Troutman.

Davis is a Polk County native and a proud product of Polk Community College. He was a dual enrollment student at Polk who graduated from George Jenkins High School in May 2004 and earned his Associate in Arts degree from the College in December 2004. He then completed a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management at the University of Central Florida in 2006.

Davis has spent the majority of his career with Kelley Automotive Group, joining in 2010 and serving for more than 15 years. Davis also holds a commercial pilot license and serves as a certified flight instructor.

Davis is actively involved in community service, volunteering with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and Peace River Center. He supports local organizations, including Polk Sheriff’s Charities and youth agriculture initiatives through his employer.

In January 2026, Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Davis to the Polk State District Board of Trustees. He and his wife, Allison, a fellow George Jenkins graduate, reside in South Lakeland with their two young daughters.

The District Board of Trustees is made up of members who are vested with oversight of all College policies, including matters related to programs, buildings, finances and personnel. Florida’s governor appoints the members who serve without compensation.

All appointments are subject to Florida Senate confirmation.
