Dr. Eric Roe, director of the Banner Center for Advanced Manufacturing at Polk State’s Corporate College, co-authored “21st Century Apprenticeship Models: A National Council for Continuing Education & Training White Paper.” The paper features development and delivery of the Mosaic Electrical Instrumentation and Automation Technician (EIA) and Mechanic/Millwright apprenticeships with the Corporate College and Banner Center for Advanced Manufacturing. The paper also profiles one of the program completers who articulated college credit from the apprenticeship program into the Engineering Technology degree program, becoming the first Polk State student to graduate with the degree. The white paper was released last week in conjunction with Roe’s presentation at the American Association of Community Colleges Workforce Development Institute in Miami.
