Administrative offices will close early Thursday for ceremony

Temporary Closures

Polk State College will inaugurate Dr. Angela Garcia Falconetti as the institution’s fifth President on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018, with an investiture ceremony at 4 p.m. in the Winter Haven Campus Health Center, 999 Ave. H N.E.

To make it possible for as many of our students, staff, and faculty to attend or view the ceremony:

  • Administrative offices will close at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15
  • Libraries and TLCCs will remain open with a limited number of staff
  • Student Services will remain open with a limited number of staff
  • Cashiers at the Lakeland and Winter Haven campuses will remain open
  • Classes will meet as scheduled
  • The ceremony will be live streamed to digital signage screens at the Polk State Clear Springs Advanced Technology Center, the Polk State Center for Public Safety, and the Polk State Lakeland Campus
  • The ceremony will be live streamed on the web and and available for viewing on the inauguration web page beginning at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15
  • The ceremony will be recorded and stored on the inauguration web page for later viewing
