Posted on by Polk Newsroom

As part of the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) re-accreditation process, the Kenneth C. Thompson Institute of Public Safety has opened a public comment portal to receive comments regarding compliance with CALEA standards, engagement in the community, promoting superior public safety training, and overall candidacy for accredited status. These comments can be in the form of commendations or concerns. The overall intent of the accreditation process is to provide the KCTIPS with information to support continuous improvement, as well as foster the pursuit of professional excellence.

In meeting CALEA’s 160 professional training standards, the KCTIPS voluntarily demonstrates its commitment to excellence in law enforcement training; the KCTIPS is proud to have been continuously accredited by CALEA since 2007 and is the first training academy of its kind in the nation to receive Accreditation with Excellence.
