What courses are required for the Educator Preparation Institute program?

Polk State College’s Educator Preparation Institute (EPI) consists of 7 courses and 1 Field Experience component. Once completed the EPI student will have earned 24 institutional credits.

• EPI 0002 Instructional Strategies (3 Institutional Credits) $336.66
• EPI 0003 Technology (3 Institutional Credits) $336.666
• EPI 0004 The Teaching & Learning Process (3 Institutional Credits) $336.66
• EPI 0010 Foundations of Research-Based Practices in Reading (3 Institutional Credits) $336.66
• EPI 0020 Professional Foundations (2 Institutional Credits) $224.44
• EPI 0030 Diversity (2 Institutional Credits) $224.44
• EPI 0095 EPI Field Experience for non-teachers  (5 Institutional Credits) $561.00 + $110 lab fee (lab fee is for non-teachers only)

The course tuition covers attendance to the EPI Professional Education Workshops, General Knowledge Workshops, and the Elementary Education workshops as long as you are enrolled in the program.  The tuition does not include textbooks which candidates must purchase via the college bookstore.
