Priority registration starts November 11, open registration starts November 13 for the Spring 2025 Semester at Polk State College

Priority registration for the Spring 2025 Semester at Polk State College starts on November 11 for students who have completed at least 50% of their program requirements and students in the following programs: Honors, TRiO, Disability Services, Collegiate High Schools, and Athletics.
Open registration will begin on November 13 for all students. Classes start on January 6.
Currently enrolled students will register for classes via the Polk Portal. Prospective students should submit a free application online at polk.edu or by clicking here.
Prospective students and families are invited to an open house on the Winter Haven Campus on October 29 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 999 Ave. H N.E. in the Student Center, WST 126.
Registering in the Polk Portal
Students should use their existing Polk State email address and password to log in to the Polk Portal.
To begin registration for classes, they will select “Open Registration Dashboard” under the “Registration Self-Service” card. Students will be given a list of options to choose from. To continue to class registration, students will select “Register for Classes.”
After selecting “Spring 2025” on the drop-down menu of terms open for registration, students will be sent to the registration page where they can search for classes by subject, course number, instructional method, professor, or day of the week, among other options. A list of options that match the search will appear. To select a particular course, students should click “Add” in the far-right column.
Once courses are added, they will appear as “Pending” on the student’s summary screen and on the class schedule, which helps students ensure that none of their selected classes overlap. To officially register for the class, students must click “Submit” in the lower right-hand corner of the summary screen. Once that has been clicked, the status of the class will go from “Pending” to “Registered.”

Paying for Fall 2024 Semester
Polk State College did not drop students for non-payment for the Fall 2024 Semester due to delays and troubleshooting related to the transition from Passport to the Polk Portal. Students must pay their account balances by October 28, 2024, to be eligible for Spring 2025 Semester registration. Students with outstanding balances, when Spring 2025 Semester enrollment opens on November 11 with priority registration, will not be able to register for classes.
Students can review their balances and pay through the Polk Portal with these simple steps:
- Log in to the Polk Portal: Access your student account.
- Check Your Balance: Review any outstanding amounts after financial aid and scholarship after your financial aid has been posted to your account.
- Make Your Payment: Paying now will help you avoid any registration issues later!
Students are encouraged to complete this as soon as possible to streamline the process for Spring 2025 Semester registration. Students who need assistance can view a video tutorial by clicking here.
The College has also created a Frequently Asked Questions page to assist students which can be accessed here: polk.edu/admission-aid/faqs.
