Electricity restored at Polk State Lakeland Campus

UPDATE TUESDAY, JULY 23, AT 11:45 A.M.
Electricity has been restored at the Polk State Lakeland Campus after a temporary outage Tuesday morning.
Face-to-face classes on the Lakeland Campus will not be taking place for the remainder of the day. Students are encouraged to check Canvas and communicate with their professors. Online and hybrid classes are unaffected; however, students should always check Canvas for communication from their instructors.
Student Services staff are also working remotely on Tuesday due to impacts of the power outage.
Individuals who planned to come to Lakeland Campus for assistance with registration, advising, or financial aid should visit the Winter Haven Campus at 999 Ave. H N.E. between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Assistance is also available by email and phone:

Polk State Lakeland Campus is currently without power due to a damaged transformer. Lakeland Electric is working to address the issue but power is not expected to be restored until Tuesday afternoon.
