Polk State Hosting Series of Financial Aid Workshops

Polk State’s Student Financial Services department is hosting a series of financial aid workshops for those interested in pursuing higher education.

Upcoming workshops include:

4 to 6 p.m.

During the workshops, attendees will receive assistance completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Attendees should bring the following documents:

Students do not have to bring parents’ information if they were born before Jan. 1, 1990, or are married, an orphan, the legal custodian of a child who received half of his or her support from the student in 2012, a veteran, an unaccompanied or homeless youth, or deemed under legal guardianship by the court.

  • 2012 federal tax returns for student/student’s spouse
  • Parents’ 2012 federal tax return, Social Security numbers, and date(s) of birth
  • Total untaxed income received in 2012, such as child support, workers’ compensation, or veterans’ benefits
