Polk State College’s 2019 Special Performance Series offers something for everyone, from classical crossover, to Broadway, to rock ‘n’ roll cover bands.

The upcoming series, which debuts Jan. 11, 2019, boasts six showstopping performances with world-class musicians from across the country.

“Each year, Polk State brings an eclectic mix of performers to Polk County, providing entertainment on par with what is expected in larger metropolitan areas like Tampa or Orlando,” Program Coordinator Nancy Lozell said. “We also always keep our patrons in mind, using their feedback to guide us in scouting out the talent they look forward to seeing each season. I am positive our patrons – regulars and those who attend for the first time – will enjoy what the College has to offer.”

Polk State’s 2019 Special Performance Series includes O Sole Trio, a classical crossover ensemble from New York City; “Close to You: The Music of the Carpenters” starring Lisa Rock; The Diamonds, mixing rock ‘n’ roll hits of the 50s and 60s; “Two on Top” starring Ron DeStefano and Melissa Giattino with tributes to the Great American Songbook and Broadway; The Phat Pack, made up of four Broadway stars; and The Everly Set with Sean Altman and Jack Skuller.

The performances range in price from $25 to $30 each, but the best way to enjoy Polk State’s 2019 Special Performance Series is with a season ticket. For $115, a season ticket reserves seating for all six shows with a savings of $50.

Tickets may be purchased online at polk.edu/boxoffice, by calling 863.297.1050, by mail, or by visiting the Winter Haven Campus Fine Arts Building Room 147A at 999 Ave. H N.E. All performances take place in the Winter Haven Campus Fine Arts Theatre.

Polk State’s Special Performance Series is an annual tradition patrons have enjoyed for more than 25 years, and the College’s students have also benefited from opportunities to perform with high-profile groups such as musical ensemble Dallas Brass.
