Important changes to First Day Access (FDA) program for students

Polk State College and Barnes & Noble have collaborated to make needed changes to the First Day Access (FDA) program. The FDA provides students with digital textbooks and learning tools on the first day of classes at reduced costs.
All students will be opted in for digital materials for their FDA courses. Students should refer to the course catalog or their schedules in the Polk Portal to determine which of their courses qualify for FDA.
The opt-out period is open for five days from the start of classes. After five days, charges are posted to student accounts for the FDA materials. Students will receive an email and a text once charges are posted and the notice to pay in 10 days. Payments may be made through the Polk Portal.
Students who do not pay 10 days after charges have posted to their accounts will lose access to their FDA course materials. Students will be notified and directed to Barnes & Noble to purchase access to their course materials at a higher cost, since they will no longer qualify for the FDA program. Barnes & Noble may be contacted at 863-312-4182 (Lakeland) or 863-312-4190 (Winter Haven).
Students with questions or concerns may contact the College at 863-297-1004.
