Polk State College’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society participated in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer on Oct. 20.

During the event, participants wear pink bras and walk to honor breast cancer survivors, raise awareness about the disease, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society pay for research, information and services, and access to mammograms.

Phi Theta Kappa adviser Penny Morris, along with students Donna Grant, Jennifer E. Freijomel, and Sandra H. Garcia raised $323 during the event.
