The Textbook Affordability Committee and Distance Learning Committee Affordability Workgroup have developed an initiative to implement Open Educational Resources (OER) in General Education courses and courses in Online@PolkState degree programs. We are also a participant in grant through Complete Florida for the development of OER materials.
Applications are now being accepted for up to 30 courses. Participants will receive a 12 point stipend for a three credit hour course for adopting or adapting OER instructional materials with no textbook cost. Those who create from scratch will receive a 24 point stipend. Multiple participants may design one course. In the event of multiple participants, the stipend will be evenly distributed. Applications are due by September 9, 2019. Participants will be notified of acceptance by September 23, 2019. For more details, see the agreement at the end of the application.
