Global Logistics Associate

The Global Logistics Associate (GLA) is an internationally-recognized certification program that acknowledges the completion of rigorous coursework in logistics and supply chain for entry level positions.

This certification program focuses on the general knowledge of transportation and logistics and all associated functions necessary for the delivery of goods. Obtaining the GLA requires successful completion of a comprehensive exam and re-certification every three years.

The GLA covers the following six units:

  • Workplace Essentials
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Transportation Management
  • Warehouse Management
  • Computer Systems
  • Safety Awareness

Course Details

Preparation for the GLA is offered as a 60-hour non-credit program twice yearly at Polk State College through the Corporate College. The course fee is $895 per student and includes all books and testing fees. Note: this is a non-credit program that does not qualify for traditional financial aid.

Credit Articulation

Students that successfully complete the Global Logistics Associate certification are eligible to receive 12 hours of college credit toward an AS degree in Supply Chain Management from any Florida state or community college. Below are the credits that Polk State awards for the GLA.
