Sgt. Kevin McGraw began his career with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in 1995, when he attended the Basic Corrections Officer Academy at Polk State College. After graduating from the academy, he was assigned to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Juvenile Boot Camp, and later transferred to the Professional Standards Unit. In 2003, McGraw was promoted to the rank of sergeant and returned to working at the Juvenile Boot Camp as a shift supervisor and training sergeant. Sgt. McGraw has worked as a supervisor at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office South County and Central County Jail facilities. Sgt. McGraw served in the United States Marine Corps, holds two associate degrees from Polk State College, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Florida. He has also completed the Certified Public Manager (CPM) program through Florida State University.
