FOR PROSPECTIVE LINKAGE PROGRAM CANDIDATES:

1.      A total of two seats are allocated to prospective candidates from Pasco-Hernando Community College, and Hillsborough Community College applying via the Linkage Program. Prospective linkage applicants may find detailed instructions in the Linkage Handbook available from the academic advisors at their respective colleges.

2.      The application window for Linkage candidates opens at 12:00 MIDNIGHT on September 1 and closes on September 15. Selected candidates are notified via electronic mail during the  following week (Sept 16-Sept 22).

3.      Linkage applicants may submit the electronic application only after meeting with an academic advisor at their respective Colleges in order to initiate the Linkage Transmittal Form. The Linkage Transmittal Form must be submitted to the linkage administrator at Polk State College by August 15. Applicants neglecting to follow this process will not be considered for admission, and applications will not be acknowledged.

4.      No application is considered until all necessary Polk State College admission documentation (application to Polk State College, high school transcripts, college transcripts if applicable, residency paperwork, etc.) has been received and processed by the Registrar’s Office.

5.      Preference will be given to the student with the higher GPA if more than one qualified applicant from the same institution applies for the same seat.

6.      Unused linkage slots will revert to general admission students.

B. VETERAN AGREEMENT:

Two seats are allocated on a first-come, first-qualified basis to prospective qualified Veteran students enrolled at PSC. Students must meet with the Coordinator of Veteran Services to determine Veteran eligibility before initiating the following process:

  1. After establishing Veteran eligibility, Veteran students need to meet with an academic advisor to determine if admission criteria for the program are met.
  2.  Academic advisors will forward qualified applications and related documents (Transmittal Form, Observation Hours Form, resume, transcripts) directly to the OTA Program Director from July 15 to August 15.
  3. If more than two qualified applicants apply for the seats, preference will be given to the student with the higher GPA. In the event of applicants having the same GPA, seats will be assigned to the student/s who applied first (based on the date and time posted on the application form).
  4. The two selected Veteran applicants will be notified via electronic mail shortly after August 15.
  5. Between September 1 and September 15, the two selected Veteran applicants must complete the online application for the OTA program, which is available on the program website www.polk.edu/ota, under “How to Apply.”
  6. Veteran students who were not selected will have the opportunity to apply again through the general admission process from September 1 through September 30.
  7. Unassigned seats will revert to general admission students.

C. GENERAL ADMISSION:

1.      The remaining nineteen seats are allocated to general admission, qualified students.

2.      Ten additional applicants are designated as alternates.

3.      The application window for general admission opens at 12:00 MIDNIGHT on September 1 through September 30.

4.      Selection of candidates and alternates will be on a first-come-first-qualified basis.

5.      No application is considered until all necessary Polk State College admission documentation (application to Polk State College, high school transcripts, college transcripts if applicable, residency paperwork, etc.) has been received and processed by the Registrar’s Office.

6.      Selected candidates and alternates for general admission are notified via electronic mail during the first week of October.

2.      The application link will be active only during the designated application windows mentioned above.
