Polk State College launched its Jewel of the Ridge Jazz Festival in 2014, creating for Polk County a rare opportunity to enjoy internationally acclaimed talent.

The event has grown each year, both in terms of audience sizes and caliber of artists, and has become what has been described as “a landmark event.” Among those who have shared their talents at the event are local favorites Charlie “Topp” Hines and  Victoria de Lissovoy; Cuban ensemble Orquesta Aragόn; Grammy-nominated Omar Sosa; the Larry Coryell Trio; and the Lao Tizer Quartet.

Except for special engagements, all Jewel of the Ridge events are free and open to the public.
