Posted on by Polk Newsroom

Polk State’s Airside Center will host an open house Oct. 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. for anyone interested in learning more about the programs housed at the location.

Polk State Airside is home to the College’s medical imaging programs in Cardiovascular Technology (CVT), Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) and Radiography, as well as Aerospace and Medical Transcription and Coding.

Polk State offers associate’s degrees in CVT, DMS and Radiography, certificate programs in Medical Transcription and Coding, and an associate’s and bachelor’s degree in Aerospace.

At the open house, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with the faculty and currently enrolled students, watch student demonstrations, and take tours of the Airside Center’s state-of-the-art laboratories.

In addition, Student Financial Services representatives and student advisers will be on site to take questions from attendees and offer information on how to enroll and pursue financial aid opportunities.

“We welcome anyone to this event, whether you’re in high school and interested in enrolling at the College or you’re already a student here and you’re interested in these programs. We’re very excited and proud of our programs and this is a chance for the public to come, visit and learn about everything we offer,” said Beth Luckett, Radiography program director.

“We’ve been asking our students to think about the things they wished they’d known when they started their programs, so they can share that firsthand insight.”

There will also be free food and door prizes.

The Polk State Airside Center is located at 3515 Aviation Drive in South Lakeland. For more information, call Polk State Airside Administrative Assistant Jamie Maguire at 863.669.4953.
