Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration: Polk State Lake Wales Hosting Performance by Latin Artist Leo de Cuba

Posted on by Polk Newsroom

Polk State Lake Wales will host a performance by Leo de Cuba, a one-man instrumental act whose music is inspired by his Latino heritage, on Oct.1 from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. at the Polk State JD Alexander Center, 152 E. Central Ave in Lake Wales.

The concert is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be available.

A native of the country that shares his name, de Cuba’s music could be described as mellow with Latino flair. In addition to the salsa, mambo and tango, he takes cues from pop, reggae, and rock, creating original versions of hits by artists such as Celine Dion and Carlos Santana. Having learned the guitar from his father when he was a young boy, de Cuba has since played his instrument in Portugal and Spain, as well as at local venues.

For more information,  call 863.298.6883 or email LWAC@polk.edu.

The concert is part of the Polk State Lake Wales Arts Center’s Downtown Concert Series and Arts Incubator Series, both of which have brought a wide variety of musicians, actors, and visual artists to the area.
