Ernie Pinner; Dr. Neriah Roberts Elected Chair & Vice Chair of Board of Trustees

09/08/2006: Polk Community College’s District Board of Trustees recently reorganized. E. S. "Ernie" Pinner was elected Chair and Dr. Neriah Roberts was elected Vice Chair. They will serve in these posts for the 2006-2007 academic year.

             Mr. Pinner is the Chairman/President/CEO of CenterState Banks of Florida, Inc. He is a former member of the PCC Foundation Board and past Chair of the Heart of Florida Medical Center Board. He is on the board of: Polk Museum of Art, Heart of Florida Education Foundation, Polk County Industrial Revenue Authority. He is the  past member of: the Polk Museum of Art Board of Trustees, Imperial Symphony Orchestra Board, Polk Education Foundation Board and the Winter Haven Hospital Foundation Board.

Dr. Roberts, is Director of the Association of School Based Administrators; Deputy Superintendent of Polk County Schools (retired); Educational Advisor of the Lakeland Housing Authority, NAACP; Past Director for Lakeland Regional Medical Center, United Way of Central Florida, Salvation Army, Polk Museum of Art, Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine, Youth for Christ, and Lakeland YMCA; Florida Association of School Administrators.

            Outgoing Chair Cindy Ross received a clock from PCC President Eileen Holden in recognition of her efforts during the past year.
