PCC Nursing Students Garner Several State Nursing Association
Awards
11/10/2006: Several
Polk Community College Nursing students received awards at the
recent Florida Nursing Student Association convention.
The Nursing I class won
a first place award in the “Theme Related Project” category.
PCC Nursing
students also received a first place award in the
“Activities-Scrapbook” category (a first for PCC’s FNSA). The
project, which was dedicated to the memory of Dr. Carolyn Rome,
was led by Randy Crump of Lakeland and Daryl Galeno
of Winter Haven.
Kerry Ballard
of
Orlando
won 1st place and Jacob Temple
of
Lakeland
won 2nd place in the musical competition.
PCC’s Jeopardy (Academic) panel placed 4th in the
state.
Panel
members were: Ashley Clark of Lakeland, Mary Beth
Gilliam of Auburndale, Alysha Schnepp of Winter Haven
and Jacob Temple of Lakeland.
Sarah Linck,
a Pre- Nursing student
from Winter Haven,
received the “Jennifer Williams Award” for community outreach and
a scholarship.
Brenda Crisp
of
Mulberry
and Sarah Linck were
elected as state officers. Toni Linck, an outgoing state
officer, received special recognition for her dedication to FNSA.
