PCC’s
Radiographic Technology Program Has Been Reaccredited
11/17/2006: Polk
Community College’s
Radiographic Technology program has been reaccredited to issue
associate degrees. This reaccredidation was issued by the
Joint Review
Committee on Education in Radiographic Technology (JRCER), the
only agency recognized by the United States Department of
Education to accredit educational programs in radiography,
radiation therapy, magnetic resonance and medical dosimetry.
The JRCER’s chair Dr. H. Martin Northup congratulated
PCC “and the program faculty for maintaining maximum award
accreditation from JRCER and wish you continuing success in your
efforts to provide a quality educational program.”
PCC’s Radiography Program was
established in 1982 and has grown over the years to include
numerous clinical sites, including: the Bond Clinic, Heart of
Florida Hospital, South Florida Baptist Hospital and Swindle
Diagnostic Clinic. The graduating classes have consistently had a
100% pass rate on their national certification exams. PCC’s
Radiography graduates are employed in a variety of radiography
related fields throughout the area and earn excellent wages. |
