PCC To Hold 3rd Annual Martin L. King Breakfast Celebration On

Community College will hold its 3rd Ann ual
Martin Luther King Celebration Breakfast on Jan. 12, 8 am in
Room WST-126 of the Student Center, Winter Haven Campus.
The event, which is open to the public, requires an RSVP by Jan.

PCC students, faculty
and staff will gather with the community to honor the memory and
accomplishments of Dr. King. The guest speaker will be Leatrice
Williams, an administrator at George’s Department of Technical and
Adult Education. Her speech will focus on “A Legacy of Unity.”
Ms. Williams, who is a
community college graduate, is working on a Ph.D. from Florida
State University and has two master’s degrees – one from Florida
Agricultural & Mechanical University and one from the University
of South Florida, where she also received a Bachelor’s degree.
She served for over a
quarter of century with the
Florida Department of
Education in Tallahassee. Ms. Williams currently is the Regional
Education Coordinator with Georgia’s Department of Technical and
Adult Education, providing leadership and technical assistance in
support of adult literacy programs and services in the Atlanta
region.
From 1971 to 1980, she
taught in various capacities in Hillsborough County, serving as an
elementary teacher and School Coordinator, an instructor at USF’s
Upward Bound Program and as Media Services Coordinator at
Hillsborough Community College. |
