PCC/ USF / AITP to Host IT Showcase March 26-27 on the Lakeland Campus

03/13/2008Polk Community College, the University of South Florida Lakeland and the Polk County Chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) will team up to host their 2nd Annual IT Showcase on Wednesday, March 26 and Thursday, March 27.

The free showcase will run from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm on both days in the new LTB building on the PCC/USF campus, Lakeland. The event will give members of the Polk County IT community an opportunity to see and experience the newest technologies entering the market from some of the industry’s leading providers.

The IT Showcase will feature an array of product sessions each morning followed by hands-on labs in the afternoons.  A continental breakfast and lunch also will be provided for all attendees on both days.

Organizations that have partnered with PCC, USF and AITP for this event and what they will offer are as follows:

Each of these organizations will also provide product specialists who will work directly with technical users during the hands on afternoon labs.

Anyone who is employed as a CIO, Vice President of Technology, Repair Technician, IT Manager, Security Specialist, Desktop Support Technician, Infrastructure Specialist, Office Manager, Telecom Specialist, Data Storage Technician, Cable Installer, Training Manager, Development/Testing Manager, Network Engineer, Design Specialist, Database Support Specialist or Application Developer should find something  of interest in these sessions.

 “The purpose of this event is to provide IT professionals with an opportunity to see and experience the latest technologies,” said PCC Professor Cliff Bennett.  “If you have ever wanted to speak and work with the experts, this is your chance.”
