PCC is Celebrating Community College Month
During April with Various Events

04/15/08]: April is Community College Month and Polk
Community College is holding a number of events as part of its
month-long celebration.
Heres the schedule:
Throughout April: PCC Faculty Publications, Past and Present
- A Celebration for Community College Month. This display will be
featured in the Library on the Lakeland campus.
April 7-25: Gallery
Exhibit- PCC Student Art Competition & Show-
The talents of PCC art students are showcased in some 300 pieces
of art, exhibited throughout during April in the Fine Arts
Gallery, Winter Haven campus. The Gallery is open weekdays: 10 am
to noon.
April 10, 11:30 am: First Generation Luncheon. The invitation only event will recognize recipients of the First
Generation Scholarship. The event, sponsored by the PCC
Foundation, will be held in the Student Center, Winter Haven
campus.
April 16 3:30-6:30 pm:
Beach & Bar-B-Q. This
event, sponsored by PCC & USFL will feature a spray-can artist,
volleyball games and more. It will be held outside the LAC & LTB
buildings.

April 17, 6 - 7:30 pm: Lakeland Campus Open House.
Prospective students will have an opportunity to learn more about
PCC and its programs. Campus tours will be conducted. The event,
to be held in the LTB Auditorium on the Lakeland campus, is
sponsored by Student Services.
April 22 11 am-1 pm: World Class Appreciation for Our World Class
Student Body- Food and music from around the
world, prizes and surprises for PCC students on the Lakeland
campus. The event is sponsored by the Student Activities Board.
April 28, 5 - 7 pm: PCC Athletic Hall of Fame Induction.
Maryly VanLeer Peck, former PCC
President, will be inducted into the PCC Athletic Hall of Fame.
The event, to be held in the Student Center on the Winter Haven
campus, is sponsored by the PCC Foundation and Athletics.
April 29, 6 - 7:30 pm: Winter Haven Campus Open House.
Prospective students will have an opportunity to learn more about
PCC and its programs. Campus tours will be conducted. The event,
to be held in the Student Center on the Winter Haven campus, is
sponsored by Student Services.
